Cathedral Concerts Exploring Sacred Music Seminars are designed to be informative and fun for the music lover to the trained musician.

This year's Sacred Music Seminar takes us back into the 16th century, the age of the Protestant Reformation and the Roman Catholic response, the Counter-Reformation.  We shall see how the German and English reformers treated music in worship, and then learn about the Catholic repertoire of the late Renaissance, which is often still called the "Golden Age" of church music.  Lectures include the German Lutheran and the Anglican perspective, as well as a historic framework of what went on in the Church during that century.  Finally, it will be most enlightening to see how liturgy and music in the 20th century had its own version of a "reformation" followed by a "reform of the reform."

Classes are held on the lower level of the Cathedral in the St. Cecilia Chapel.
Lunch with the presenters follows each class.

Registration for all 5 weeks including lunches following each class is $150.
